1st Shift: Mon - Thu, 6am - 4:30 pm

Here's a Glimpse at What you'll Do:

As a Welding Factory Leader at Lantech, you will:

  • Lead team leaders/production associates to produce Q-Semi fabrications.
  • Supervise both manually produced parts and robotically produced parts from the Automated Weld Cell.
  • Focus on Production within the Q-Semi line with the addition of other robotic or manual welding and machining areas in the future.
  • Supervise both 1st and 2nd shift production.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and adherence to safety regulations where team members can be successful.
  • Take initiative daily to maintain current conditions to ensure associates have what they need each day.
  • Ensure standard work and standard processes are maintained and followed.
  • Guarantee adherence to shipping schedules.
  • Observe shop floor activities with regard to schedule delays.
  • Take action quickly on production downtime, quality issues, and part shortages to ensure appropriate steps are taken to capture and correct the condition.
  • Teach LEAN philosophy and lead workshop events for team leaders and associates.
  • Prepare JOB's, interviewing, and staffing lines for success.
  • Authorize expenditures within spending limits and budgets.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and evaluations for salary recommendations.
  • Resolve conflicts, problems, and performance gaps and initiates appropriate performance management action to address them.
  • Enlist the support of team members to achieve department goals, adherence to policies, and best practices in support of Lantech's vision and culture.

What are We Looking For? (Requirements)

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a history of good interaction/communication with associates
  • Has proven history to have led a team that is stable related to retention and quality output of work and support for schedule adherence.
  • Is a change agent with a tenacious ability and passion to lead ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Has demonstrated knowledge of LEAN principles.
  • Has proven "Problem Solving" experience stemming from Quality Loop board.
  • Has potential for future leadership and promotability.
  • Adheres to guidelines related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Is a team-oriented individual with good interaction/communication skills.
  • Is detail-oriented and able to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knows safety equipment and is aware of machine safety procedures
  • Is able to pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check.
  • Is willing and able to work overtime to complete projects and/or meet scheduling deadlines.
  • Is legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Education & Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing leadership or engineering experience at Lantech.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years in welding or equivalent education.
  • Integration, Controls, or Robotics background or willingness to attend related technical training is required.
  • Advanced welding degrees or certifications such as CWI or AWS or equivalent skills and experience are required.
  • Automated tool-making is strongly desired.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A College degree is preferred and an emphasis in Engineering is strongly preferred.
